Daniel lived in the midst of a pagan, wicked society for more than sixty-six years. That is a long time and it is plenty of time to become discouraged or compromised. Yet Daniel continued to live godly in the final days of his life just as he had in his teenage years. Our passage gives us the account of Daniel’s service and influence on a third king and world leader. Through the pressures, the persecution, the positions faithfully maintained godliness. May we his life encourage the same in us.
