In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon describes the futility of a life lived without the wisdom of God and apart from the fear of God. This kind of living leads to the sickness of soul and vexation of spirit. It’s an inner chronicle of a man on a desperate search for meaning and purpose. His search would lead him full circle from total self-centeredness to a place of total surrender to his Creator! Along the way, Solomon wrestles through the great earthly inequities of justice that he observes in the lives of the wicked and the righteous. His conclusion will help us to serve and worship God with joy.
