Church Makes Me Glad—Josiah Kagin

There are many places in the world that we would be glad to visit. Perhaps a visit to the Grand Canyon to take in some breath-taking views, or a visit to Caribbean to enjoy the sun setting over the warm and vast ocean waters, or to Africa to take a safari adventure. Taking a scenic or adventurous trip can bring us some happiness and rejuvenation as we step away to enjoy some time alone with God and our family. Sometimes, however, we miss an opportunity for gladness and rejuvenation that God has provided to us regularly. David, the Old Testament penman of many of the Psalms, describes how going to the house of the Lord brought him gladness. While in the New Testament, believer are the temple of the Holy Spirit, God still calls the called out assembly of believers the house of God. As believers, gathering together in the name of Jesus Christ should make us glad. We will learn why from the testimony of David.
