A Resolved Messenger—Acts Series—Josiah Kagin

It had been two years since Paul stood trial before Felix for the alleged crimes of being a pestilent fellow, an instigator of sedition among all the Jews in the World, a chief of a sect of the Nazarenes, and defiling the temple by bringing a Gentile into the temple. All but one of the accusations were false, Paul was indeed a leader of those who followed Jesus Christ of Nazareth. For the past two years, there has been no action in Paul’s case. However, the enemies of Christ were still boiling with hatred for both the message and messenger of the Gospel. As Festus, the new governor, assumed office, Paul’s accusers seized the opportunity to advance a criminal trial against Paul. Today we will see how the enemies of Christ will use whatever means available to stop both the message and messengers of the Gospel. We will also see how Paul demonstrated resolve to boldly continue forward for Christ and the Gospel despite the persecution.
