God used the church of Philippi to meet the needs of the saints as well as the furtherance of the Gospel. In the second letter to the Corinthians, the Philippians along with the other churches in their region had given sacrificially to help the believers in Judea that we facing extreme persecution. In the epistle to the Philippians, Paul emphasizes that they had fellowship with him in the Gospel from the first day that they had received Christ. Their hearts were involved completely, and so their finances were invested generously. They gave not just once to the Gospel ministry of Paul, but gave a second time. Their first gift enabled Paul to set aside bi-vocational ministry and minister full-time in Corinth. Many times concern, worry, anxiety over finances becomes an obstacle from us fully obeying the will and Word of Christ. Let’s learn from the Philippians to be conquerors in our stewardship through Christ.
