You are Salt and Light – Josiah Kagin
Can you imagine how awesome it must have been to hear Jesus preach? One of His most well known sermons is called “The Sermon on the Mount.” He began it by addressing essential matters of the heart. While this sermon would serve as a type of constitution for His coming kingdom, it did explain the kind of rulership that Jesus wanted to develop in the hearts of His followers. The first twelve verses of the sermon dealt with such matters humility, purity, spiritual hunger and handling persecution. What Jesus desired to develop within the hearts of His disciples, He also expected to be demonstrated in the habits of His disciples. This was His focus as He communicated to them that they were both salt and light in the world. This message is wildly important for every follower of Christ today.
